Roman Empire, Marcus Aurelius for Faustina Minor, Denarius (obverse) Roman Empire, Marcus Aurelius for Faustina Minor, Denarius (reverse)

Faustina Minor, the Younger, was the wife of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. The couple had at least 14 children, most of which died at young ages, however. Some coins consequently praise Faustina's fecunditas, her fertility. On this coin, the empress is shown together with Concordia, the personification of harmony.
