Courage
and Myths,
Means and Symbol
The banknote - an oblong piece of paper, printed in various and
nowadays extremely complex ways, without any intrinsic value. In
the last analysis it is nothing but a means of communication,
consisting of signs and text, which has been determined by law as
a vehicle of value.
But as a currency
symbol it is an unmistakable sign. And as such it has always been
both a fashionable product of the times and an emotionally laden
symbol of identity. Often quite simply an aesthetically beautiful
piece of paper as well. Especially in Switzerland.
