240 BC Ptolemy III, the portrait of Berenike II, his wife. An octodrachm in gold from the coin cabinet in Berlin, magnificently photographed by Hirmer. For me one of the most beautiful portraits of an actual queen. Look at the expression of her mouth. Even in these later times there were still engravers who were able to produce such masterpieces.
