The state quarter of New Mexico bears the caption 'Land of Enchantment'. The depiction is a relief of the state outline below a Zia sun symbol that is also on the New Mexican flag. The four rays on each of the four sides of the symbol stand for the four points of the compass, the four seasons of the year, the four times of the day, the four seasons of the human life, and the four virtues that every human being should develop according to Zia belief: a strong body, a clear mind, a pure spirit, and a devotion to the welfare of others. The Zia are an indigenous people in the south west of the USA. Their center is the Zia pueblo near Santa Fe, the capital of New Mexico.
