Barbara Artmann - Entrepreneur
Well established in her career at a large Swiss bank, Barbara Artmann still felt something was missing. She didn’t know what it was she was looking for but she decided one day to quit her job and give herself some time to discover what she wanted from life, beyond a banker’s hefty pay. It took a while and it also took some good advice from a friend and a golden opportunity before she found her path. Barbara Artmann, she learned, was born to be an entrepreneur, someone who builds a company, makes the tough decisions and risks her own money. The golden opportunity was the somewhat faded Swiss shoe company Künzli. She jumped in with both feet, took Künzli over and injected it with new life, new ideas, new products and new markets. The result: the company is thriving and so is Barbara Artmann.
