The Swiss graphic designer Hermann Eidenbenz designed the 10- and 20-franc notes that came into circulation in the 1950s. The designs show historical personalities: on the 20-franc note it is Henri Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross. The reverse depicts a typical Swiss alpine plant, the silver thistle (Latin: Carlina acaulis).
